Like practically every other market in the country, the Colorado Springs real estate market has taken a few major blows in the past three years, but their losses haven’t compared to the statistics we’ve seen in many other markets. The fact that a recovery is predicted early for Colorado Springs comes as no surprise to Pikes Peak realtors.  But it doesn’t hurt that the area has been applauded by so many media organizations over the past several months.  Lifestyle magazines like Outside and news websites like CNN Money have singled out the Pikes Peak region as for its livability, culture and economic trends.

If you haven’t visited the Colorado Springs area, then it may be hard to fully appreciate the astounding beauty of this mountainous region.  Some people think of Colorado Springs as a ski town, and it can look like that during the winter, but it is actually more populated during the summer months.  With so many natural wonders and family tourist attractions, the area attracts quite a few campers and vacationers from neighboring states.

Pikes Peak realtors like to point out how convenient the ‘Springs is to many outdoor activities, including fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking and more.  Just a short drive away are destinations like the Victor Gold Mine, Cripple Creek and the Royal Gorge Bridge, or stay in the Springs and visit Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.  In a recent article written by Action Team Realty in Colorado Springs entitled, “Pikes Peak Realtors Have Something to Smile About,” the author points out that the region is also known for its ideal climate, with enough sunny days to enjoy the natural beauty and year-round on nearly every weekend.

Moving to Colorado Springs will be a great move for any first time homebuyer, because this region is forecasted to be among the first to fully recover from the housing slowdown.  A vibrant technology sector plus five military bases helps to keep demand for residential real estate steady all year round.

As if these aren’t good enough reasons for Pikes Peak realtors to smile, the Colorado Springs real estate market has also been mentioned in this article - “Top 10 Early Turnaround Towns from Realtor.com (April 2011).” Coming in at lucky number 7, the author reports that Colorado Springs prices have only fallen by 12 percent while population growth has created greater demand for housing. According to Realtor.com, this is one of the most popular locations searched on real estate listings.
